I’ve had my old kitchen blender for years. It has made many a fruit smoothie (even if it wasn’t too smooth), many milkshakes, thick soups, you name it. I can’t even remember where I got this blender from – I think one of my friends had an extra blender and she gave me it when I was moving into my apartment. Since then it’s moved with me through a couple of apartments and houses. It’s been a real trooper too, since I’ve overloaded it on more than one occasion. But I could tell it the motor was going so I decided it was time to splurge on a suitable replacement. A blender that would be a solid workhorse but look good in my new kitchen too. That’s why I decided on the Oster Osterizer Ruby Red Beehive Blender.

I love this blender! Not just because it looks so cool on my counter top, but because it has a powerful 500 watt motor than can chop and puree anything I put in it. It makes fantastic smoothies and wonderful frozen drinks too. It comes with a 5-cup glass scratch resistant jar that’s dishwasher safe. Since there was still a bit of life left in my old kitchen blender, I gave it to my niece for her first place.
